  • Epidote is a silicate mineral commonly found in metamorphic rocks, recognized for its rich green color, which ranges from pale yellow-green to deep pistachio or olive. Its crystalline structure often forms elongated, prismatic, or columnar crystals, sometimes with striations along the length, giving it a distinctive and elegant appearance. 
  • The name “Epidote” comes from the Greek word “epidosis”, meaning “increase” or “addition”, which refers to the crystal’s characteristic asymmetrical growth—one side of the crystal is often longer than the other. This elongation gives Epidote its signature prismatic, columnar crystal shape.
