Purpurite is a rare manganese phosphate mineral with traces of iron. It impresses with its unusual natural purple color and a silky iridescent chatoyance, and sometimes a cat's eye effect.
The mineral is found in noble pegmatite, Purpurite is a secondary mineral formed by oxidation of iron and or manganese and simultaneous leaching of lithium from lithiophilite. There are only a few locations worldwide: Our Purpurite comes from a newly discovered (2020) location in the gemstone fields of Minas Gerais/Brazil.
Each Purpurite pattern is naturally unique and may differ slightly from the image, though the overall shape and color balance will be similar to the image.
